Adoption brings God's love to orphan children by living example.

Six years working with children in a mission orphanage in the Philippines helped us understand why children just don't want to be orphans.

Regardless of whether we view adoption as ministry, or simply a way to build a family, adoption by a Christian family provides the best environment for a child to comprehend God's love, and to develop the fertile soil where the gospel can take root and thrive.

Caring for widows and orphans in their distress is pure and undefiled religion. (James 1:27) An orphan's distress is not belonging to a family, and no matter how much we love and care for children in institutions, they are still orphans.

Orphan children want to belong to a loving family just like you and I do, but without a family, many children cannot understand God's love, and they want to know: "If God loves me, why am I an orphan?" Actions speak louder than words (1 John 3:18), and some will actually ask: "If you love me, why don't you adopt me?"

God sent Jesus into the world: "that we might receive the adoption as sons." (Gal. 4:4-5) "as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12) Adoption is a living example of of God's love !

Christian families in churches everywhere already want to adopt, but many need financial assistance to make adoption affordable.

Not everyone is called to adopt, but anyone can love and minister to orphan children in a practical and meaningful way, by helping other families adopt.

Providing financial support for adoption is truly God-inspired, and follows Jesus' example of redemption. I urge you to support adoption ministry in your church, with your time, skills, prayers and finances.
